BFM Screening Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility:

Films submitted for screening must be original works owned or controlled by the submitting filmmaker or entity.
The British Films Market accepts feature films, short films, documentaries, animations, and experimental works from all genres.
Films must have been completed after [2022] to be eligible for submission.


2. Submission Guidelines:

All submissions must be made through the official submission portal by the specified deadlines.
Each film must be accompanied by a completed submission form and the applicable submission fee.
Submissions must include a high-quality digital screener of the film in the format specified on the submission page.
Films not in English must have English subtitles.


3. Selection Process:

All submitted films will be reviewed by the British Films Market selection committee.
Filmmakers will be notified of their screening time status via email.
Selected films may be screened multiple times during the event, as determined by the organizers.


4. Screening Rights:

By submitting a film, the filmmaker grants the British Films Market the non-exclusive right to screen the film at the event and use clips, images, and promotional materials for marketing purposes.
The British Films Market does not claim ownership of the submitted films, and all intellectual property rights remain with the filmmaker.


5. Technical Requirements:

Selected films must be provided in the required screening format (e.g., DCP, ProRes) as specified by the organizers.
Filmmakers are responsible for delivering the final screening copy by the deadline provided in the selection notification.
The British Films Market is not responsible for any technical issues that arise from improperly formatted materials.


6. Participation:

Selected filmmakers are encouraged to attend the British Films Market and participate in Q&A sessions, panels, and other related events.
Filmmakers are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements unless otherwise specified.


7. Screening Schedule:

The British Films Market reserves the right to determine the screening date, time, and venue for each selected film.
The final schedule will be published on the British Films Market website and provided to selected filmmakers in advance.


8. Cancellation and Withdrawal:

The British Films Market reserves the right to cancel or reschedule screenings due to unforeseen circumstances.
Filmmakers may withdraw their films from the market by providing written notice to the organizers before [specific date]. Submission fees are non-refundable.


9. Liability:

The British Films Market will take reasonable care in handling submitted materials but is not responsible for any loss, damage, or delay.
The filmmaker agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the British Films Market, its organizers, and partners from any and all claims, liabilities, losses, and expenses related to the submission, selection, or screening of their film.


10. Amendments:

The British Films Market reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to filmmakers and updated on the official website.


By submitting a film to the British Films Market, the filmmaker acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these screening terms and conditions.
